The business began on Captiva as Jim’s Rentals, under the ownership of Jim Floyd. Marcel Ventura, the current owner, joined Jim’s Rentals a year later, working for his best friend’s father. The business started out in the early days with Waverunner rentals, along with scooters and a dozen bikes. At that time, there was opposition by some of the local municipalities to watersports activities. However, the company persevered and 31 years later offers a full range of rentals for both land and sea. If you want to explore Sanibel and Captiva by land you can rent bicycles, scooters, jogging strollers or a scoot coupe for two. If water is your preference, parasailing, sailboats, skim boards, paddleboards or the popular banana boat are some options.

Add to that their convenient retail store just three doors from the beach and your beach shopping is complete if you need sunglasses, beach clothing or suntan lotion.
