Luminary Festival 2011 –
The Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce is proud to be hosting the 27th annual Luminary Festival on Sanibel and Captiva Islands on Friday, Dec. 2 (Sanibel) and Saturday, Dec. 3 (Captiva).
On Luminary Festival Weekend, our islands sparkle from end to end with illuminated candles to celebrate the gift of light at our holiday season. Hotels, restaurants and retailers mark the occasion with welcoming offers, festival menus and grand displays.
Luminary Festival is a community-wide holiday event across our Islands bringing together residents, visitors, businesses and organizations, promoting goodwill, fun and community spirit.
This year promises to be extra special. Captiva is repeating its hugely successful Captiva Holiday Village promotion and is joining with Sanibel hoteliers and other accommodation providers to offer new and additional events – staged from Friday through Sunday – available to all visitors to and residents of both islands.
You will be able to “travel the candlelit trail” that offers many opportunities to stop and enjoy music, entertainment, drinks and snacks. Complimentary trolley services will whisk you between activities especially planned for the entire family. Exclusive package deals enable you to enjoy all that is best of both our Islands. Many of our island visitors will be making hotel reservations early especially for the event.
