4th Annual Island Hopper Songwriter Festival
There will be plenty of music in the air during the 4th Annual Island Hopper Songwriter Festival, held this year from Sept.22-Oct. 1. The event, organized by the Beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel /Lee County Visitors and Convention Bureau, brings talented singer-songwriters to venues in Captiva, downtown Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach.
The Island Hopper Songwriter Festival is produced by The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel, Cat Country 107.1, iHeart Radio and BMI. Performances will be held in Captiva from September 22 -24, downtown Fort Myers September 25 -28 and Fort Myers Beach from September 29 to October 1.
Both experienced and up-and-coming writers and singers of country music take part in the festival, which includes more than 150 live performances that feature over 80 entertainers at 23 unique venues. Most events are free, but there are a few ticketed events that must be reserved in advance.
Headliners for the 2017 Festival include Lindsay Ell, whose recent album, The Project climbed to the top of the iTunes Country albums chart. Other headlines include Brooke Eden and Raelynn. Eden, a Florida native, recently released her debut album, Welcome to the Weekend. Raelynn also debuted her first album in 2017, Wild Horse, and appeared on NBC’s The Voice when she was just 17.
Ticketed events include Lindsay Ell and Brooke Eden in downtown Fort Myers on September 27th, a Songwriter’s Round, also in downtown Fort Myers on September 28th at the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center, and RaeLynn at the Pink Shell Beach Resort on Fort Myers Beach.
Performances will be offered at several locations on Captiva Island, just a few miles north of Sanibel. Popular establishments such as Cantina Captiva, Mucky Duck, Doc Ford’s Captiva, and ’Tween Waters Inn Island Resort will host artists playing both afternoons and evenings from Sept. 22-24.
