Come Taste The Fun!

Get ready to indulge your love of great food, all for a wonderful cause, at the 36^th annual Taste of the Islands from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12 at the Sanibel Community Park. The popular annual event is a benefit for CROW (Clinic for Rehabilitation of Wildlife) here on Sanibel and attracts hundreds of local residents and island visitors anxious to sample specialty menu items from Sanibel and Captiva restaurants.

Admission is $7 for adults and free for children age 12 and younger. Both the admission tickets and CROW bucks, used to purchase food and drink, can be purchased online at www.crowclinic.org and then picked up at the will-call booth. Live music during the event will be provided by the Killa-Watts.

New this year, CROW’s animal ambassadors will make an appearance at the Taste of the Islands event. These are animals that have come to CROW for care and cannot be released into the wild. Look for Mina, the great horned owl, Bashful the opossum or Shelldon the gopher tortoise among the ambassadors.

Arrive by car, bike, or on foot and join the hungry crowd ready to spend a pleasant afternoon sampling an array of treats from the menus of our many island restaurants. Just a few of the participating restaurants include Doc Fords, Blue Giraffe, Matzaluna and The Bubble Room.

Proceeds from Taste of the Islands ensure CROW’s ability to meet its mission of providing the highest quality veterinary care for injured, ill and orphaned wildlife. Funds also support the Visitor’s Center educational programs. Don’t miss this favorite island event!
